When building a small timber frame house, space can be limited, especially in the kitchen. When planning your timber house, consider planning a kitchen that combines entertainment and dining areas in one comfortable space. To achieve this goal, there are several things you need to consider to maximize your kitchen space and turn it into the area you want.
Assess your needs
The first thing you need to do is consider how you are currently using your kitchen. Think about when and how your family cooks, eats, and uses the kitchen today. Usually, when you are building a retirement home with prefabricated timber wall frames, there are only two people in the house.
Room design
When designing your kitchen you need to take your lifestyle and budget into account. You can design an open kitchen that overlooks the living room. To create a special kitchen, you can use handmade timber, vaulted ceilings, and special timber.
Room table
In addition to the counters, you can set up separate timber tables for family and friends to sit and eat without affecting the cooking area. One configuration that is a popular design is a breakfast bar or island with seating higher up at pub level on one side and a hob on the kitchen side.
Dining table
If you have a small kitchen area but want a dining table, you can place a long table on one side between the living room and the kitchen on one side of the cooking area. If in the plan you have a separate dining area, you can have a smaller or round dining table hidden in a niche or corner.
